The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) was created in 1990 when the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Science took over the extensive collection of documents developed since 1970 by the Centre d’animation, de développement et de recherche en enseignement (CADRE). Management of the CDC was then assumed by Cégep André-Laurendeau, and the CDC became the new custodian of this heritage resource while pursuing the development of a research collection in the field of college education. Since 2016, the CDC has been sharing its collection through an open archive called EDUQ.info which replaces the «Regard library catalog» we had before.

The mission of the Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) is to collect, retain, process, disseminate, and promote a collection of documents specialized in education so as to meet the needs of the various stakeholders in the college network.
Our mandate is to provide our services to all public and private English and French Cegeps and colleges in Quebec.
The CDC manages ÉDUQ, the open archive of the Quebec college network, which collects, retains, and disseminates documents about teaching, learning, and institutional development in Quebec’s Cegeps and colleges.
To fulfill its mission, the CDC staff has adopted the following strategic orientations for 2014‒2019:
These services are subsidized by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur.
03
The CDC’s specialized and unique collection largely consists of pedagogical and institutional publications produced in the college network (public and private colleges, the Fédération des cégeps, and college, higher-education, or ministerial associations and organizations).
As contributing partners, you systematically submit your interesting publications to the CDC. In exchange, the CDC promotes your documents by disseminating them by means of a user-friendly, open archive, and conserving them to ensure their longevity.
For a list of contributing partners and their collections, consult the List of Communities in ÉDUQ.

To create a collection that meets the needs of the network and is in keeping with its mandate, the CDC has a Collection Development Policy. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the specificity, relevance, and cohesion of its collection. It also defines the selection criteria and main areas covered by the collection.

Document loan at the CDC is governed by a policy to ensure the quality of services (loan, renewal) in accordance with its mandate.
